Jack Wilshere is expected to miss the rest of the season after scans reveal the midfielder broke his leg against Tottenham on Saturday (Sky Sports).
The Englishman who has enjoyed a season long-loan at Bournemouth had a second scan on the injury which revealed a crack in his left fibula – A similar problem to the one that limited him to just three Premier League appearances last season.
Wilshere’s infamous injury record has reduced 25 year-old to feature just 19 times in Arsenal’s last three league campaigns.
Yet after being shipped out on loan on deadline day last summer, the player appeared to have shaken off his injury woes and had been a mainstay in Eddie Howe’s side.
Wilshere’s stats do not make the best of reading, but despite providing just two assists for his Cherries teammates, his quality was praised by Howe who claimed the playmaker had transformed his side.
It’s unclear whether England international whose Gunners contract expires in 2018 will be allowed to leave The Emirates at the end of this season.
