Arsenal are lining up a surprise move for Marouane Fellaini.

The Manchester United star is set to leave Old Trafford this summer after rejecting two contract offers to remain at Old Trafford.

Fellaini has found it difficult to become a fan favourite at the Theatre of Dreams since David Moyes brought him from Everton in 2013.

The Telegraph report new Arsenal boss Unai Emery had been keen to sign the Belgium international when he was Paris Saint Germain manager and the Spaniard is now keen to add him to the Arsenal squad.

Fellaini, 30, would be available on a free which would fit in line with Arsenal’s frugal £50m transfer budget this summer.

The midfielder’s representatives look set to meet with Arsenal officials this week. Head recruitment Sven Mislintat appears to also be in a favour of a move.

Arsenal will surely have to improve on Fellaini’s contract worth £80,000-a-week, that he has turned down at United.

Good in both boxes as long as he works in midfield. Handy for cb if one injured
