Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw with West Brom at the Hawthorns.

West Brom were controversially awarded a penalty by referee Mike Dean in the 88th minute, to which James Rodriguez tucked home.

As expected, the game was a difficult one for Arsene Wenger’s side were the Baggies showing fight for new boss Alan Pardew.

The first-period was mediocre, but the Gunners grew into the game and were dangerous in the second period.

Alexandre Lacazette continues to impress with his link up play and the striker almost found the net himself, only for his snap shot to be saved by Ben Foster.

However, the north Londoners took the lead late on when Alexis Sanchez’s deflected free-kick nestled in the bottom corner.

The game appeared to be over, but the Baggies were given a last minute penalty by Mike Dean after the referee adjudged Callum Chambers to have handled the ball – though replays suggested the defender was unlucky to be penalised.

Arsenal have moved up to 5th, but are three points behind Liverpool.
