Two goals from debutant Eddie Nketiah saw the Gunners register a late fight back to ruin Norwich’s big scalp hopes.
Arsene Wenger fielded a much changed side from the team that thrashed Everton 5-2 on Sunday, and Arsenal paid the price with a very disjointed first-half.
Norwich took the lead through Josh Murphy’s delicate dink, but substitute Nketiah scored 15 seconds after coming on to cancel out the Canaries opener.
The 18 year-old doubled his tally for the club in extra-time as his header met Mohamed Elneny’s corner to put the Gunners in front.
The England under-19 international is the first player born since Wenger started his reign as Arsenal boss in 1996 to score for the club.
Wenger has never won this competition – it’s another quarter-final for Arsenal and the Frenchman will be keen to finally get his hands on the trophy this time around.
