Valencia are considering a move for Arsenal centre-back Gabriel.
That’s according to the Evening Standard, who claim the La Liga outfit have identified Gabriel’s lack of first-team opportunities this season as an opening.
The out-of-favour Brazilian started just 15 Premier League games last season and has fallen behind Laurent Koscielny, Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi and Per Mertesacker in the centre-back pecking order.
Gabriel is currently sidelined with a knee injury likely to keep him out for more than a month, though Valencia boss Marcelino has maintained interest in the defender.
The 25 year-old joined the Gunners from Villarreal in 2015 for £11.3m, but has since struggled to become a mainstay in Arsene Wenger’s side. The suggestions are he is unsettled in London as he has difficulties learning English.
Arsenal could be willing to part with the Brazilian if an opportunity to sign another defender arises.
