Everton are among four sides interested in signing Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, Squawka reports.
The centre-back has gained regular Premier League experience after spending last season on loan at relegated Middlesborough.
Chambers could be available for £15m, one million less than that what Arsenal paid Southampton for the 22 year-old in 2014.
Everton are leading the pack of sides including Bournemouth, Newcastle and RB Liepzig.
The England international earned 25 Premier League appearances last season and impressed for Boro.
The defender picked up similar stats to the best of Everton’s defence last season. Chambers was equally successful in challenges, winning 49% alongside Ashley Williams. But he was edged out by Ramiro Funes Mori (50%) and lagged far behind Phil Jagielka (66%).
As for pass accuracy, surprisingly for an Arsenal player, the 22-year-old’s distribution needs work. With a 77% pass accuracy, he couldn’t match any Toffees centre-back.
