Arsenal are in line to finally secure the transfer of Karim Benzema this summer if Alexis Sanchez leaves the club.

The Real Madrid striker has been perennially linked with Gunners and is reportedly ready to be offloaded by Real president Florentino Perez.

Perez is suggested to be fed up with the Frenchman, who’s netted just nine times in his 24 La Liga appearances this season.

According to Don Balon that Arsene Wenger will look to replace Alexis Sanchez with the Real Madrid striker this summer.

Benzema, 29, has scored an impressive 178 times for Los Blancos, making him the club’s 4th highest all time goal scorer.

Arsenal will be desperate for a world class striker should Sanchez leave. Olivier Giroud has proved to be valuable, yet has failed to hit 20 league goals since arriving in 2012.

Meanwhile Lucas Perez could be out the door this summer after receiving little opportunity to impress the Arsenal fans.

I seem to remember him being disrespectful of Arsenal a couple of years ago. We don’t need him.
