Arsenal are interested in signing promising Stuttgart midfielder Berkay Ozcan.

The 19 year-old has flourished in his breakthrough season for the German side and the Gunners are now among a number of clubs battling for his signature.

The Turkey under-21 international has three goals and three assists in 18 appearances so far for his side who play in the second tier in Germany.

Ozcan’s agent Yukselsen has confirmed that Arsenal lead the chase for the starlet.

“Many top clubs are interested at Berkay,” Yukselsen told website FootballLondon.

“Arsenal has Berkay on its list, but at the moment he is focusing on Stuttgart’s resurgence.”

Arsene Wenger has a track record of nurturing and developing young talent and it appears he has his eyes set on Ozcan despite the Frenchman yet to sign a new deal at The Emirates.

The boss’ current deal expires at the end of this season and it remains uncertain whether he will decide to continue his tenure at the club. Wenger did reveal that fan view will influence his final decision.
