According to reports, Mesut Ozil turned down an offer from Manchester United before signing a new deal with Arsenal.
Ozil has signed a three-and-a-half year deal worth £350,000-a-week before tax.
The report also claims the German rejected advances from Barcelona PSG and Guangzhou Evergrande, who all wanted the 2014 World Cup winner this month.
Ozil’s new contract has seen him become Arsenal’s highest paid player in the club’s history.
Bild say Ozil snubbed a move to Arsenal’s rivals in favour of staying at the Emirates.
Jose Mourinho’s side did snap up Alexis Sanchez, but according to German newspaper Sports Bild, Ozil told United he would not be joining them prior to extending his stay in north London.
And the Red Devils decision to wrap up a new deal for Juan Mata following the news suggests they were well aware of Ozil’s decision.
The Germany international has been boosted by the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who completed his club record move to the Emirates on Wednesday.
