Chelsea have signed Olivier Giroud for a reported £18 million.
The France international has penned committed to 18 months at Stamford Bridge with a view to year’s extension.
Giroud watched as Antonio Conte’s side suffered a shock 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
After arriving at the Emirates in 2012 in a £12 million move from Montpellier, Giroud went on to score 105 goals in 253 games for Arsene Wenger’s side.
The Frenchman also lifted three FA Cups in time in north London.
Giroud’s was softened by the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The ace striker arrives as Arsenal’s new number 7 for a club-record £55.4 million. He could be thrust into the side to play Everton on Saturday.
As for Giroud, the Frenchman was in attendance to watch Chelsea’s shock defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
Antonio Conte has been scowling the market for a physical presence up front. And the Blues have snapped up Giroud after failing to prize Edin Dzeko away from Roma.
