Arsenal club legend Charlie Nicholas believes the club should cash in on Alexis Sanchez whilst they can.
The Chilean is nearing the end of his current deal and will be free to leave at the end of the season.
Despite a slow start to the campaign, Sanchez has provided seven league goals so far this season. However, Nicholas thinks it’s clear the forward does not want to be at the Emirates and says he’d like to see the 29 year-old sold in this window.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I just want to see [Alexis Sanchez] leave the club now as he clearly doesn’t want to be there and I’d rather see Wenger get what he can for him and find a replacement.”
Speculation is mounting over whether the Chile international will depart north London this month, with his preferred destination being high-flying Manchester City.
Sanchez has been in good form for Arsenal of late and although selling him is financially viable in the short-term, it could see Arsenal miss out on Champions League football next season.
Thoughts, Gooners? Would selling Sanchez be the right call? Let us know in the comments…
