Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes his old side will announce a new contract for Arsene Wenger at the end of the season.
The Gunners boss who is out of contract this summer is being tipped to sign a new deal at The Emirates.
Wenger who has spent 21 years at Arsenal has been subjected to immense pressure from Gunners fans calling for him not to resign.
Arsenal have lost five out of their last eight games, including a 3-0 lost to Crystal Palace last time out.
Despite the Gunners’ poor form, the Express report that Merson reckons a new deal for the Frenchman is on the horizon.
Speaking to Sky Sports as to when it’ll be announced that he’s signed, Merson said: “At the end of the season, when all the fans have gone home.
“It’s as simple as that.”
Arsenal travel to Middlesborough on Monday Night Football in a bid to instil some confidence before next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final.
