Arsenal will have to hold off in launching a bid for Jean-Michael Seri until they have trimmed their squad.

That’s according to Metro Sport, who claim Arsene Wenger now needs to sell before he can invest this summer.

The Gunners are suggested admires of the £33m-rated Ivorian, but are still yet to open talks with Nice.

Wenger has had a sweet tooth for midfielders for some time and currently has an excess of players who operate in the middle.

Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka were the last to hold it down last season. Whilst Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny remain suitable options. Meanwhile, both Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are recovering from long lay off’s, but are not far from reaching full fitness.

It’s uncertain who from the six would depart for Seri at this time.

Gooners, we want to hear from you! Who from our midfield would you be content to see leave the club this summer? Let us know in the comments…
