The Metro claim Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Arsenal’s contract rebel Mesut Ozil next summer.
The Gunners midfielder has less than a year to run on his current deal and can walk for free at the end of the season.
Ozil, 28, has not held contract negotiations with Arsene Wenger’s side since mid-March and is permitted to open pre-contract talks with other clubs from January – this could also effect his desire to play for Arsenal after agreeing a switch elsewhere.
United boss, Jose Mourinho has been a long time admirer of the German who shone for the Portuguese during his time at Real Madrid.
But there is hope among Arsenal fans that the wizard could still sign a new deal for the Gunners before the season’s out.
If Manchester United do land Germany’s five time Player of the Year, Ozil could make a formidable trio alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. Unfortunately, the North Londoners have allowed the No 10 to run his contract down and the decision could seriously cost Arsenal in the long run.
AFTV-Trivia: Mesut Ozil has provided the most assists in the Premier League since arriving in 2013/14 (42).
