Arsenal have won their appeal against Mohamed Elneny’s sending off against Southampton last Sunday.

The Egyptian was sent for an early bath late on during Arsenal’s 3-2 victory.

The holding midfielder was pictured shoving Southampton’s Cedric Soares following an altercation between Jack Wilshere and Jack Stephens, which saw the latter also sent for an early bath.

Elneny was due to miss Arsenal’s upcoming clash with Newcastle on Sunday.

However, the Football Association overturned the decision after an independent panel accepted the Egyptian was “wrongly dismissed for violent conduct”.

It was Elneny’s first dismissal in a Gunners shirt, but the 26 year-old has now seen his three-game ban rescinded.

Arsene Wenger will now have the Egyptian available to face Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday, before hosting West Ham on 22 April and travelling to Manchester United on 29 April.

Gooners, what did you make of Elneny’s red? Let us know in the comments…
