Arsene Wenger has revealed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could feature again this season – if the Gunners reach the Europa League final next month.
Mkhitaryan limped off after suffering a knee injury during Arsenal’s 4-1 mauling of CSKA Moscow last Thursday.
The Mirror say Mkhitaryan underwent a scan on the knock and the diagnosis has revealed medial ligament damage. The Arsenal forward is now set to miss the rest of the season, but could figure in the Europa League final in the French city of Lyon on May 16 – should Arsene Wenger’s side make it.
The Gunners still have to keep CSKA at bay in the second leg of their quarter-final on Thursday night. Progress to the semi’s could see them come up against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Lazio or RB Leipzig.
The Armenian is set to undergo extensive treatment in order to return as soon as he can.
