A late fightback from Arsenal saw them recover from the brink of a shock Europa League exit to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
The Gunners drew 2-2 with CSKA in Russia which was enough to see the Gunners into the last four. However, Arsene Wenger’s side were made to sweat for the win after going 2-0 down to Viktor Goncharenko’s side.
Arsenal had taken a healthy 4-1 lead into the second leg, but CSKA were given hope when they found themselves ahead in Moscow.
Fedor Chalov and Kirill Nababkin pounced on Petr Cech parries to put the hosts within touching distance of an unlikely turnaround.
However, Danny Welbeck rescued the north Londoners and effectively put the game out of sight before Aaron Ramsey earned Arsenal a draw in the dying seconds.
It finished 6-3 on aggregate with Wenger’s side now preparing to face either Atletico Madrid, RB Salzburg or Marseille in the next round.
