Danny Welbeck scored a brace as Arsenal dispatched Bournemouth 3-0 at The Emirates.

Eddie Howe’s side came with a plan to add more misery to Arsenal’s recent slump, but the Gunners hit back to move into the top half of the table.

Arsene Wenger left Alexis Sanchez on the bench following the collapse of his proposed deadline day move to Manchester City.

However, the Chilean’s absence did not affect the Gunners who opened the scoring after just 6 minutes – Danny Welbeck’s header was simply too much for the Cherries new shot-stopper Asmir Begovic.

Arsenal’s record signing Alexandre Lacazette then doubled their lead, caressing his shot into the far corner on 27 minutes.

And Wenger’s side put the game to bed five minutes into the second half as Welbeck grabbed his second of the game.

It’s much needed three points for the Gunners after suffering back-to-back defeats prior to the international break.

The North Londoners are now looking ahead to opening their Europa League campaign at home to FC Koln on Thursday.
