Arsenal take on CSKA Moscow at the Emirates as the two sides vie for a place in the Europa League semi-finals.

The Gunners came through a tough tie against AC Milan in the last round. As did their Russian opponents who were victorious over Lyon.

Arsene Wenger will have a fit Alexandre Lacazette to choose from ahead of his side’s quarter-final clash.

The Frenchman had been out of action for six weeks with a knee injury before returning in Sunday’s 3-0 win at home to Stoke City. Lacazette sealed his comeback with a goal from the penalty spot.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ineligible, Wenger will be relying heavily on his top scorer to give the Gunners a first-leg lead.

Wenger predicts a packed out Emirates Stadium on Thursday night

The boss has a tough decision to make in regarding who he selects in goal. David Ospina has started most of the Europa League fixtures, but was also in action for the weekend’s Premier League win.

Meanwhile, after only making the bench on Sunday, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be pushing to return to the starting XI. As will Gunners skipper Laurent Koscielny.

Arsenal XI: Ospina; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Ramsey, Xhaka; Ozil, Wilshere, Mkhitaryan; Welbeck

Arsenal will not want to travel to Moscow without a lead in hand. The Russian side are potentially problematic, but a fast start would settle the nerves. Wenger will be hoping the fans show up in their numbers as he so boldly predicted in Sunday’s post-match press conference.

Prediction: 2-0 Arsenal
