Dani Alves has revealed Barcelona’s joy for drawing Arsenal in the Champions League during his time at the club.

The Gunners met the Spanish giants numerous times in the Champions League between 2010 and 2015 and often it was the Catalan side who came out on top.

Lionel Messi claimed all four goals in a 4-1 win at the Nou Camp in 2010, while Barca also knocked Arsenal out of the competition in a 3-1 win the following season.

As reported by the Express, the right-back said: “Well, we definitely liked to face Arsenal.”

“They had a similar football style to ours, and this sometimes helped to facilitate our way of playing.

“We were drawn against them several times with a positive outcome. They were a team we dominated and had a control over.

“Every time we faced Arsenal, we’d have a good result or good performance.”
