Arsenal are closing in on their second signing of the season and could wrap up a deal for Monaco forward Thomas Lemar by the end of the week.
The Gunners have been linked with the 21 year-old for several weeks and it appears Arsene Wenger has shaken off interest from rival clubs for the winger’s signature.
According to the Daily Mail, the North Londoners are prepared to match Monaco’s £30m value of Lemar.
The youngster has gone under the radar after teammate Kylian Mbappe’s remarkable season.
The Frenchman (pictured left) helped his Monaco side secure their first Ligue 1 title for 25 years. Lemar’s efforts last season saw him pick up an impressive 14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions.
It’s uncertain whether Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of the France international is an alternative for Alexis Sanchez or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Both players have been heavily linked with move away from The Emirates this summer.
