Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes Alexis Sanchez is frustrated that Alexandre Lacazette has taken his central role.
The Chilean who is currently sidelined with a abdominal strain watched as the Frenchman scored his first Arsenal goal in the 4-3 win over Leicester on Friday night.
Lacazette played superbly down the middle and was a consistent threat for the Leicester defence. Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville reckons Sanchez would be unhappy to be pushed out wide.
“You can’t see Sanchez being too happy having played central last year, going out wide.
“That will be interesting to see how it evolves over the next few weeks.”
Sanchez could return in time for Arsenal’s trip to Stoke next Saturday (19 August). It remains to be seen as to where the forward will line-up.
Another man who has reason to be concerned over playing time down the middle is Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman stepped off the bench to score the winner against the Foxes, but is expected to play second fiddle to Arsenal’s record signing.
