Arsenal are now favourites to land Udinese midfeilder Jakub Jankto after Juventus pulled out of the race for his signature.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Juve will instead turn their attentions elsewhere in the transfer market, adding Jankto’s “most likely next destination seems to be the Premier League.”
Jankto, 21, has attracted the attention from Europe’s elite over the past year for his outstanding performances both on the left hand-side and in the heart of the midfield.
So far the Czech Republic international has scored one and assisting another in Serie A this season.
Arsenal may choose to make their move in January, though it is though Udinese will be willing to part with their hottest talent.
Jankto also three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal with the club, which could be a stumbling block for Arsenal in regards to the transfer fee.
Arsene Wenger today claimed neither Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil will be sold in the next window, which likely means a move to bolster the squad will not take place until the summer.
