Arsenal will sign Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac after his current contract expires, Sky Sports have confirmed.
The Bosnian international has agreed a deal with the Gunners and will officially become an Arsenal player from July 1.
The 23 year-old has received plaudits in Germany for being a solid defender who poses as a consistent threat going forward. Kolasinac has registered 9 assists for his side in all competitions this season.
It’s Arsene Wenger’s first bit of business ahead of a much anticipated and busy summer window.
The defender’s arrival could spark the end for Kieran Gibbs’ Arsenal career. The left-back who is approaching the final year in his contract is likely to fall further down the pecking order, while Nacho Monreal is set to be Kolasinac’s understudy.
Wenger’s future still hangs in the balance, though the Frenchman revealed he would be overseeing this summer’s transfer preparations.
