Antonio Conte believes he can turn Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into a world class wing-back for Chelsea.
The Italian, who has just penned a new deal at Stamford Bridge is in the market for someone to step up competition for his current wing-backs.
Both Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso excelled for the Blues last season, but the Metro report that Oxlade-Chamberlain has been identified as the man to give either a run for their money.
The makeshift full-back started just 16 Premier League games last season and growing frustration has caused him to consider his options. Conte’s interest stems from his belief in turning the 23 year-old into a top class wing-back for Chelsea.
The Ox has entered the final year of his Arsenal contract and could be available for a cut-price this summer if the Gunners are willing to sell.
However, it seems Arsene Wenger’s side have put the foot down on this one and are determined the England star at least see out his contract.
