Bayern Munich are ready to end Granit Xhaka’s disappointing spell at Arsenal says former boss Omar Hitzfeld.
The Swiss has struggled to impress Arsenal fans this season since his £35m move from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer.
And the ex-Bayern manager suggests the German giants are willing to end the 24 year-old’s difficult time in North London.
“Bayern certainly has Xhaka on the radar,” he told SportBild (via Goal.com)
“Xhaka is always a topic of conversation for current top clubs and his development is not yet completed.”
The midfielder’s discipline has been the highlight of contention this season. Xhaka has picked up eight yellow cards and sent his marching orders twice and his conduct has irritated Arsenal fans.
The news comes after Bayern midfielder Xabi Alonso announced he will retire at the end of the season. The German champions will be looking for a new playmaker once the ex-Liverpool ace hangs up his boots.
