Arsene Wenger had a three hour meeting with Kylian Mbappe last month.
The Express claim that the Frenchman met with his compatriot on the 14th of June after France’s international friendly with England in a bid to persuade Mbappe to join the Gunners.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the 18 year-old who last season emerged as one of the brightest stars in Europe.
The Gunners reportedly offered Monaco £87m for Mbappe, to which was turned down by the Ligue 1 champions.
And Monaco are suggested to be holding out for a staggering £130m to part with the youngster.
During the meeting with Wenger, Mbappe apparently said a move to Arsenal would be the best possible choice for him and he could emulate his idol Thierry Henry at the forefront of their attack.
With Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool all interested, Arsenal face tough competition for Mbappe’s signature.
