Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev insists Monaco will do all they can to keep forward Kylian Mbappe at the club.
The Frenchman was a key player in Monaco’s Champions League victory against Manchester City on Wednesday and the 18 year-old’s impressive performances this season has attracted interested from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
However the Monaco VP is determined to hold on to the starlet this summer.
‘Our intention is to keep Kylian Mbappe,’ Vasilyev told RTL.
‘Mbappe is a product of our youth academy. He is our DNA. I am very proud.
‘We have a real team. The first half was excellent – the sort of performance that the very top teams make.’
The Frenchman has shone for the Ligue 1 leaders this season. Mbappe boasts 10 goals and seven assists in 21 matches for a Monaco side that has scored 89 times in France’s top division.
Despite having no desire to sell the ace, the French side face a tough task this summer of keeping the striker who has been dubbed ‘the next Thierry Henry’.
