Arsenal could wrap up a deal to sign Jean Micheal-Seri in the coming weeks.
The Ivory Coast international has been tipped for a switch to the Emirates since last summer.
Seri is said to be one of the names on Unai Emery’s shortlist as the new Gunners boss looks to strengthen the squad he inherited this summer.
It was reported that Emery’s side were edged by Liverpool in their efforts to sign Fabinho who joined Liverpool this week.
Seri also operates as a central midfielder and could help shore up the Gunners defence.
The Ivory Coast international is also said to have attracted interest from Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
The Daily Star claim Emery wanted Seri during his time in charge of Paris St-Germain, while Arsenal’s director of football was an admirer of the 26-year-old when he was at Barcelona.
