According to Sky Sports, Arsenal denied in their late move to sign Fabinho.

The Brazilian has joined Liverpool after successfully completing a medical at Melwood on Monday.

It is understood the Gunners made a late move for the 24 year-old. Fabinho is admired by new boss Unai Emery, who also attempted to sign the player at former club PSG.

Sky sources understand Liverpool will pay £39.3m (€45m) plus a maximum of £4.3m (€5m) in add-ons.

Fabinho made 105 Ligue 1 appearances during his time at Monaco, which included lifting the title in 2016/17.

Arsenal are now expected to pursue other targets. Nice’s Jean Michael-Seri has been linked with a move to the Emirates.

The Ivorian is said to be one of the names on Unai Emery’s shortlist as the new Arsenal manager looks to strengthen the squad he inherited this summer.
