Arsenal are doing battle with Everton for the signature of Club Brugge defender Bjorn Engels.
The centre-back has opened the door for a move to the Premier League after revealing he would relish the opportunity to play in England.
Speaking to HLN, Engels praised the passion of the Premier League.
“Take West Brom against Burnley. The stadium is packed and it’s ‘go’ from the first to the last minute,” said the Belgium under-21 (via talkSPORT).
“Fantastic. The atmosphere, the interviews, analysis… I have at home a ‘box’ and can follow all the channels.”
The 22 year-old has established himself as a mainstay in the Brugge team this season with 18 appearances in all competitions, including one in the Champions League against Leicester City.
With 3 years remaining on his current deal, the player could prove costly for Arsene Wenger’s team
Engels has been tipped to replace Gabriel this summer. The Brazilian has failed to impress since arriving at The Emirates in January 2015.
