Arsenal have listed Barcelona midfielder Rafinha as a man who could replace Mesut Ozil.

The Brazilian is yet to make an appearance for the Catalan side this season due to being sidelined with a knee ligament injury.

So far, Rafinha has failed to make a genuine impact in the Barcelona ranks and could be sold by Barca boss Ernesto Valverde in January.

Rafinha is yet to play a game for Barca this season.

The Express now claim the 24 year-old has attracted interest from Arsenal. And it is said Rafinha is keen on leaving the Nou Camp in order to boost his chances of making Brazil’s 2018 World Cup squad in Russia.

Ozil is seemingly running down his contract and could leave for free at the end of the season. However, his agent recently suggested that “positive talks” have occurred with Arsenal which suggests the German could still sign on the dotted line.

Thoughts, Gooners? Is Rafinha a suitable replacement for Ozil? Let us know in the comments…

I certainly haven’t seen enough of him to reasonably answer the question. He might be a superstar in the making, who knows as many good players go to Barcelona and it doesn’t work out hence how we got a certain A.Sanchez. Isco at Real was another deemed a flop and seemingly heading for the trap door not too long ago and wouldn’t have got the chance to prove his worth had Bale not got injured. Personally gutted about that as he’s the perfect player to replace Santi and I was hoping his talent would continue to be under appreciated over looked. However, with the likes of Iwobi, Jack and Rambo I don’t think the Ozil factor if he does decide to go would be prominent or long lasting. What gets me is that no one seems to recognise that William Carvalho is the only midfielder we should be pursuing and exactly what we need full stop. His game is perfect for us as is his physicality and he just reminds me so much of Gilberto Silva. Plus I think he would allow for the weakness’s of the aforementioned and increase the effectiveness of their game. We could have had van Dyke from when he was at Celtic, same for Wanyama along with a certain Kante at Caen and for 2 years Eden Hazard was leaving Lille and joining us. Ahead of anyone else over here we were looking at these players then did fuck all. I think we are gonna make the same mistake again, can only hope I’m wrong.
