Arsenal have returned to Monaco with a second offer for Thomas Lemar.
Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger is determined to land the player who remains the Frenchman’s number one target this summer.
The initial bid of €40 million was turned down by the Ligue 1 side who are insistent on maintaining their best players this summer. However, ESPN claim Arsenal’s latest offer of €45 million could well be enough.
Lemar spent the majority of last season as a left-midfielder, but the Frenchman is also competent in the middle of the park.
The 21 year-old has three years to run on his current deal with the Ligue 1 champions, but is suggested to have already agreed personal terms to play at The Emirates.
Arsenal announced the signing of Alexander Lacazette earlier in the week, but Wenger is aiming for some double delight in the space of a week.
Whether Lemar is in line to replace Alexis Sanchez remains unclear. The Chilean who is wanted by Manchester City is rumoured to be demanding £400,000 to stay in North London.
