Arsenal look to have wrapped up their third signing of the summer.

New boss Unai Emery has been keen to shape things up at the back following a dreadful defensive season last time out.

And after completing deals for Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno, Gunners fans can now get ready to welcome Borussia Dortmund’s Sokratis Papastathapolous to the Emirates.

Sky Sports football correspondant Darmesh Sheth has now revealed that the deal for the defender is likely to be confirmed at the start of next month due to tax reasons.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast (via Sport Review), Sheth said: “That one is likely to happen on 1 July. Dortmund want to announce it at the start of the new tax quarter in Germany.”

After missing out on Jonny Evans, who joined Leicester earlier this month, the Gunners have also had their efforts to sign Lewis Dunk rebuffed.

The north London side who finished outside the top four for the second consecutive season will be hoping Sokratis can help bring them Champions League qualification this year.
