Arsenal have earmarked Jack Butland as the man to replace Petr Cech at the Emirates.

The Stoke City ‘keeper has shown good form this season, despite his side’s difficult league form. He’s has kept 16 clean sheets in his 66 Premier League appearances – but only four this term.

However, Arsenal face heavy competition for the England goalkeeper’s signature. The Sun claim that Jurgen Klopp has also identified Butland as the man to stop the leak in the Reds’ defence.

Petr Cech has been the subject of much criticism from Gooners this season. The 35 year-old veteran could  has another season on his contract but Wenger knows the four-times title winner with Chelsea cannot play forever.

Arsene Wenger may be concerned by Butland’s recent injury record. The shot-stopper recovered from a serious ankle injury last year, only to be sidelined with a broken finger in November.

Thoughts, Gooners? Let us know in the comments…
