Arsenal ended Arsene Wenger’s reign at the Emirates in style after thrashing Burnley 5-0 on Sunday.
The Frenchman, who is set to leave at the end of the season saw his final signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fire home a brace, while Alecandre Lacaxzette, Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasanic helped complete the rout.
In a season of dissatisfaction Arsenal ended Wenger’s reign in some style. Despite not reaching the Europa League final, the 68 year-old received the send off his seven FA Cups and three league titles deserved.
After the match the boss returned to the pitch to say a few words. Those that hit home the most were simply “I will miss you.” Throughout the ups and downs, Wenger’s tactical nouse, signings and management have been brought into question, but his love for the club has always been undeniable.
The Gunners have moved 6 points ahead of Burnley to consolidate sixth in the Premier League.
